For Valdemars Slot’s inaugural arts season, historical portraits from the Estate’s collection by Carl Gustaf Pilo (1711–93) and Jens Juel (1745–1802) were exhibited alongside site-specific installations by international contemporary artists Rong Bao (CN), Jirí Georg Dokoupil (CZ), Hanne Lippard (NO), and Pernille With Madsen (DK). 

We look forward to sharing the Season 2 programme, which will take place between May and September 2026.

    Drive direct to Valdemars Slot and leave your car in our public car park, beside the ticket office and entrance.

    This magnificent Renaissance castle dates back to the 16th century and is surrounded by a stunning landscape of gardens and forests.

    Here, you can see ancient artifacts and learn about the daily life of the people who once inhabited this land.

    Tåsinge is also home to the renowned Bregninge Church, a medieval masterpiece that boasts impressive frescoes and intricate woodcarvings. We are working to resolve this for the future.

    The area is home to diverse wildlife, with public footpaths running through the forest and along the coast.

    Valdemars Slot launched this year as a unique destination for international contemporary art. As VS is a listed building, it has unfortunately not been possible to provide wheelchair access this year.

    • As visitors are limited in the palace, we recommend buying your ticket online in advance, to avoid disappointment.
